Managing Director, Tim Ridgway, has been heavily involved in organising historically based trips for The Anne Boleyn Files, and we are proud that he is now able to spend his time actively involved in History Tours of Britain. His expertise allows us to have an interactive and useful website, and his eye for detail ensures that our clients always get the best from their tours of England.
Executive Director
Claire Ridgway is the creator and owner of www.TheAnneBoleynFiles.com, www.ElizabethFiles.com and www.TheHistoryFiles.com websites and is a full-time researcher, writer and historian.
Claire’s specialism is Tudor history, particularly the reigns of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, and she uses her knowledge of the period to plan exciting, educational and luxury tours to bring this wonderful period to life for attendees. Claire spends every day knee deep (or perhaps neck deep!) in Tudor history so you can be assured that these tours will give you the very best Tudor history experience.
Claire and Tim are both committed to providing tour attendees with their dream vacations, the experience of a lifetime, and work hard to ensure that everyone is 100% happy.
Tour Leader
Robert Parry is an author of historical fiction and a devotee of most things Tudor and Victorian. Having been a visitor to the Anne Boleyn Files and Elizabeth Files since 2009, and having contributed to several articles there, he has an abiding admiration for the arts and science of the Tudor and Elizabethan worlds. He also has experience in teaching, and has a good local knowledge of London and the South East of England.
Robert’s recent Tudor historical novels are “Virgin and the Crab” and “The Arrow Chest”.
Robert and Ruby will be leading The Anne Boleyn Experience Tours.
Tour Leader
Following a good few years travelling overseas in which she applied herself to topics as diverse as secretarial work in Australia to sheep farming in New Zealand, Ruby Lawrence returned to her native shores and settled in the South East of England where she has developed a great fondness for the many historical buildings and places located there. With experience in teaching, she is also a keen gardener, a painter of china and enthusiast of history.
Robert and Ruby will be leading The Anne Boleyn Experience Tours.
Tour Leader
Gareth Russell is an author, historian, past student of Oxford University and creator of the “Confessions of a Ci-Devant” blog which he describes as “Musings on history, life, literature, movies, art and merriment”. He is author of “Popular”, a novel released by Penguin in July 2011, and is an historian with a special interest in Anne Boleyn. He has researched Anne’s life extensively and is planning to write a biography on her.
