If you are a history buff or Anglophile, I recommend History Tours of Britain. I had a wonderful time on the “Executed Queens Tour.” I paid more than $3000 for the tour, but it is all-inclusive (excluding airfare) and well worth it.
This is a "must do" for any history buff who wants to participant in an in-depth study of the Tudor Dynasty with like-minded individuals. Unlike other tours which would have merely taken us to various Tudor-related locations, the Anne Boleyn Experience provided us with the opportunity to watch Professor Eric Ives speak. Professor Ives did not merely write a book about Anne Boleyn; he is THE person who wrote THE book about Anne Boleyn. Beyond that, staying at Hever Castle, Anne Boleyn’s childhood home, was surreal. Being surrounded by history, as well as Hever’s magnificent gardens, is what truly made the Anne Boleyn Experience an "experience." It was magical.
Hever was one of the best experiences I have had in a long time. Claire and Tim did a wonderful job!
So sad it ended all so fast. We have many wonderful memories from our tour. Anne Boleyn fans are a knowledgeable bunch - and the tour was up to their standards.
Both David and I loved the tour enormously and got a great deal out of it. The whole Hever experience was fantastic, and staying there gave a very different perspective to the place than simply visiting it. To me though the best part was meeting twenty like minded people who had such a passion for the period. I loved the evenings, talking about the day, and chatting with lovely people while eating a great meal. I loved the tours round Hever, the Tower and Hampton Court, and the people we met made the experience even more special.
Bravo! I want to do it again!
I DID return for the second year as I said I would and it was better than ever. Truly, truly a most wonderful experience. Meeting with many other "Anne fans" and discovering how much you have in common with them. If you can do this trip - do it at all costs - it is wonderful and will leave you smiling and feeling content for a long time.
The Anne Boleyn Experience 2011 was a dream come true! It exceeded all my expectations! Bart and I are very grateful for all those wonderful people from the USA, Canada, Australia and England we were able to meet! We had a fantastic group, with a common interest in Anne Boleyn! Staying at Hever castle was a special experience, something to remember! All the events were very well organised and very interesting!
I had the most amazing time and can not fault a thing. I will suggest it to anyone as it is truly a once in a life time experience and there are no words I can say that can tell can tell you how great it was. I will be going on another in the future! I will never forget it as you have made my dreams come true. I am the most happy.
It was the historical experience of my lifetime. I have traveled to England at least 18 times over the last 40 years and visited as many historic places and museums as I could, but the Anne Boleyn experience was beyond a regular tour experience.
Kat and I had a blast and want to come again real soon!!
It was always a great desire of mine to see Hever Castle, but to stay there was an experience in itself... I would describe Hever Castle as “the garden of the garden of England” so much serene beauty, more than the eyes can behold... The members of the Experience tour commented on the warm atmosphere that we experienced there, Hever does something to you, that keeps alive inside, I will treasure that feeling and the memories for a long, long time. We all have expressed, how much we miss Hever Castle and that “Hever feeling.”
I was one of those who had little to travel, an hours flight from Ireland. I can visit all the sites on the tour with relative ease, however, in a concentrated tour, I was with others who knew much more than me on the history of the Tudor period. I learned more in a short week than in years of reading. A most pleasurable experience.
The Anne Boleyn Experience 2010 was the trip of a lifetime. Staying in Anne Boleyn’s childhood home was exciting, the food was excellent, and it was great to get together with other Anne Boleyn fans. I would highly recommend it to any Anne Boleyn or Tudor history buffs.
The Anne Boleyn Experience was the trip of a lifetime for a history geek like me. Getting to meet and talk to other Tudor enthusiasts, and walking in the footsteps of Anne Boleyn are memories I will cherish for a lifetime.
This is a tour of a lifetime. When do you get to stay in a castle? Everything about Hever Castle is wonderful; the accommodations, the food, the gardens, and you get to meet some of the nicest people in Britain! I enjoyed this tour very much and I appreciate all of the planning that went into it. These tours will become THE tour to do in Britain. I was on the First one!
Going on The Anne Boleyn Experience was everything I expected and more. It was filled with lovely people and fantastic history! And being able to stay at Hever, where Anne grew up was incredible! The food and staff at Hever were amazing and very helpful! I cannot say enough good things about this, if you’re an Anne Boleyn fan - it’s a must! Thank you thank you thank you! I can’t say it enough!
For all of us who love “our” Anne - go on this trip.It is wonderful and will leave you smiling and for me in awe. I sold gold and antiques to pay for this trip. It was well worth it and I don’t regret it. My problem now is what am I going to sell for next year’s trip - because I WILL be there.
The Tour was wonderful and the various speakers and venues made everything I had read about the period and personalities so much more alive and real. Staying in Anne’s childhood home where she began her life and visiting Hampton Court where she spent much of her time as Queen, as well as visiting the place where she died and the Chapel where she lies buried gives you a much deeper understanding of Anne Boleyn. This Tour is not to be missed by any serious Anne Boleyn devotee.
The Anne Boleyn Experience was one of the most exciting, beautiful times I have had in my life. It is comparable to my wedding, the birth of my daughter, and many other personal high points I have experienced in my life. It is a truly magical tour, not to mention the lovely people I have met. And England is a friendly, warm, wonderful country. Her people, landmarks and countryside are indescribable. I am so honored that I was one of the people included on the first tour. I would recommend the tour highly!
