Overview
The Anne Boleyn Experience is a 4 night tour which focuses on the life and death of Queen Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII.
It includes visits to the three main Tudor landmarks associated with Anne Boleyn: the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Hever Castle and you will actually be staying at Anne Boleyn’s home, Hever Castle, in a private wing. It really is amazing to wake up each morning and be able to stroll around the grounds before breakfast or go for a moonlit walk around the grounds – out of this world!
The Anne Boleyn Experience Tour will be led by author Robert Parry and history enthusiast Ruby Lawrence.

Guest Speakers
Speakers include Anne Boleyn expert Professor Eric Ives, Robert Parry, author of “Virgin and the Crab” and “The Arrow Chest”, Bess Chilver, an expert in Tudor costume and lifestyle, and the Hever Castle historian.
Professor Eric Ives
Eric Ives is the author and historian responsible for the book I consider to be THE Anne Boleyn biography: “The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn”, a book which is forever by my side. His most recent book is “Lady Jane Grey: A Tudor Mystery”, a biography of The Nine Days Queen, Lady Jane Grey, and he has also written widely on Tudor history, the history of law and the development of modern higher education.
Eric is Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Birmingham and was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) by the Queen in 2001 for services to history and the University of Birmingham.
Eric Ives is an Anne Boleyn expert, sometimes describing Anne as the third woman in his life after his immediate family, and he’s the perfect person to speak to us about Anne. His book revolutionised the way people viewed Anne Boleyn and is still the best book available on her today.
Bess Chilver
Bess Chilver is an experienced Tudor costumer who has been recreating Tudor and Elizabethan life, and making Tudor costumes, at Kentwell Hall, Suffolk, for well over a decade. Bess will be talking to the group about Tudor costume, life and hygiene, and will also dress up a tour attendee in Tudor costume.
Robert Parry
Robert Parry is an author of historical fiction and a devotee of most things Tudor and Victorian. Having been a visitor to the Anne Boleyn Files and Elizabeth Files since 2009, and having contributed to several articles there, he has an abiding admiration for the arts and science of the Tudor and Elizabethan worlds. He also has experience in teaching, and has a good local knowledge of London and the South East of England.
Robert’s recent Tudor historical novels are “Virgin and the Crab” and “The Arrow Chest”.
